I retired to Santa Fe, NM after a career as a leadership consultant and executive coach in Portland, OR.
After several years as a practicing artist, I now help retired, and about-to-retire, professional women find more purposeful lives.
Education
I grew up in Berkeley CA and attended the University of California, receiving a BA in history. While raising two children near Portland, I completed a Master of Arts in Human Values. Later I earned a Master of Divinity, and a doctorate from the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, focusing on spirituality and developmental psychology.
How I Came to Do This
While I was painting and building sculptures in Santa Fe, I began noticing how many retired women were expressing dismay or concern about their retirement. One captured the sentiment,
“The roles that are expected of us as retirees are not turning out to be as meaningful as I had hoped.”
With further interviews, I recognized that the skills and insights I had developed with business leaders, and much of my earlier education, were precisely what was needed to help these women today.
Current Practice
I now meet individually online with women across the country. Our initial program consists of 12 online (Zoom) meetings over 3 months, along with “homework” and email exchanges. I also hold in-person consultations with Santa Fe residents and women who wish to plan extended visits to Santa Fe, “The City Different.”
